NEW! This week, we completely rebuilt the front and rear seats on this car, including new covers. They look great and they’re quite comfortable! I’m a huge fan of GTs and I have one in my little collection, because I find these to be among the most beautiful and underrated British classics. You can do a lot with them that you can’t do with other British Sports cars. You can haul more courtesy of the hatchback… and use them for a longer season, courtesy of the hardtop. They also accommodate tall drivers better than most other British classics, so if you feel a little crowded in other classic cars, a GT could be a good choice for you!

“Ole Yeller”, as we have chosen to call this 1969 MGB GT (GHD4U165308G), is a really interesting car. I have a soft spot in my heart for MGBGTs. I think GTs are one of the most striking and spectacular British cars available, and yet, for years they’ve been ridiculously undervalued. Lately, however, there’s been a 40% bump in value (according to Hagerty) over the last year for GTs, so apparently I’m not the only one who thinks this way! I’ve been hoarding my own 1967 GT, and I really think these chrome bumper cars are the best. I’m particularly fond of the giant trunk logo with a mouthful of letters… the car may not have had a ton of horsepower, but the car certainly had a big rear lid emblem!

Stunning White 1960 Bugeye With Many Upgrades For Sale! Driving Video!

Now SOLD to Gerard in Florida! Bugeye #367 is off to the Sunshine State!

Meet “Delores” (AN5L 30460), a stunningly-restored 1960 Bugeye. Delores has been to our shop multiple times before, and each time has received extensive attention and upgrades. The car was last owned by a family in New Jersey, where it has spent the last year, and it is now ready for its next home!

When Delores first came to us in 2017, it was a well-sorted, authentically-restored Bugeye, and the owner at that time wanted several upgrades done before they took delivery. This included three-point inertia seat belts, new minilite wheels and tires, a wood steering wheel, no-drill windshield post mirrors, new tapered front wheel bearings, a rebuilt smooth case transmission, and much, much more! These items are all still present on this iteration of Delores and still look great. When Delores’ latest owner purchased the car in late 2021, they wished to take it to the next level. We installed a front flip-nose kit, aluminum radiator, exhaust header, rebuilt HS2 carburetors with new K&N lifetime air filters, a 6-blade radiator fan, and more!

The Eagle Has Landed!

Last December, I announced at our company holiday party that I had purchased the first production Bugeye Sprite. Never did I imagine that we wouldn’t be opening the box with this car in it until mid-July 2022, but here we are! Seven-plus months after its journey began, AN5L/501 has arrived, and this special Sprite does not disappoint.

501 is a car that has been restored to Concours condition while also being made into a driver at the same time. This is perhaps one of the best interiors we’ve seen in a Frogeye, one that is both accurate and usable. The builder of the tunnel mat included the ribs that would’ve come on the original rubber mat on the tunnel into a hardura piece and did so with great skill and artistry. Many other small details involving the interior were done with the utmost precision, as well.

Shelby Says Sayonara!

It’s always particularly special when we get a car back in our shop that we previously prepared because the car inevitably leaves with new improvements each time through. In this case, Shelby has been here for two prior owners and now is ready for Vernon in Oklahoma, the third owner to push the car to new heights.

Fun 948-powered 1958 Bugeye Driver For Sale! Driving Video!

Now SOLD to a buyer who has asked to remain anonymous for now! Bugeye #356 has found its next home!

Today’s Bugeye offering is a car we like to call “Creamsicle.” AN5L 2564 is a great driver with a 948 engine and front disc brakes. We had this car in our shop in December 2020 and delivered about $8,500 worth of improvements, so the car has been recently gone through for a prior customer; if you’re looking for a well-sorted car, thus, this is a great candidate.

We call this car Creamsicle for obvious reasons. There’s a good story behind its unique paint job. The fellow who had this car for many years in New Haven, Connecticut was on a budget (like a lot of Bugeye owners were back in the day) and in order to paint the car he was able to reclaim surplus paint from his body shop buddies to use on his car. That’s Barracuda Orange Crush on the center section and Chrysler White on the wings. He wanted an entirely orange car, but there wasn’t enough orange to finish the job, so white would have to do – and that’s how Creamsicle was born.

Jay Leno’s Bugeye Survivor!

Exciting news!

Jay Leno has made a new video chronicling his 1959 Bugeye, which is linked below. Jay’s car has many similarities to “Muffin,” another white Bugeye survivor, just purchased this week by Bob in New Jersey (our 354th). Jay obtained his original survivor and has spent the past few months going through it and this is the first peek at how the project has moved forward. This video is one more mainstream endorsement of the car that we love so much, and you can see how giddy Jay is while he plays with it!
