About a month ago, we began our countdown to 400 Bugeyes sold by highlighting Celebrity (#390), Lilly (#391), Cirrus (#392), and Sawyer (#393). This is a huge milestone for us, not just because 400 is a significant number, but also because it is a measure of the amazing progress we have made. We still learn something new with every one of these cars, and we are excited that we continue to improve. We also continue to celebrate the uniqueness of each and every one of these wonderful cars. No two are the same!

This month, we’re still cruising right along towards the big 4-0-0 , currently at 398!

This is “Jesse,” (AN5L 31196), a striking Bugeye Sprite that has been well-sorted with all the right upgrades. The car belonged to the editor of the Austin Healey Club national magazine and he made sure it was right. This is the one to get for anyone looking for a premium car that is highway capable and a delight to drive.

We fell in love with this car and invested heavily in new parts and restoration to bring her back!

This is “Annie,” (AN5 29286) a 1275-powered car that comes with a fresh rebuilt rib case four-speed transmission. The drum brakes have been completely restored, and all the hydraulics are new, as are the shocks, wiring harness, dashboard cover, carpet and more! We ripped out all the wiring and replaced every strand! We also did the same with all the metal brake lines and replaced them all!

$17k in recent mechanical and interior upgrades!

“Mooney” (AN5L 17816) is a Bugeye we sold last spring and added more than $17k in upgrades, all of which were installed for the prior owner just one year ago! (see list of upgrades at the end of this post). The prior owner has moved to a new location and couldn’t bring the car, so we were happy to buy it back, to pass it on to a new owner. The massive list of upgrades were all done in our shop just a year ago, making this one a delight to drive. Don’t be fooled by the exterior (It’s weathered and can use a paint job); a 1275 and rib-case transmission lurks underneath this patina is the car is quick and shifts nicely!
