Once we receive a car that we buy or contract to restore, we immediately start improving the car. After the first test drive and ride on a lift, we build a spreadsheet to record any and all issues. Each car goes through multiple pre-departure checklists. These are our babies, and they don’t leave “the nest” until we get them right.
Throughout the process of building our cars, I put on as many miles as possible, and then, on the final test drive, my job is to verify everything is done right.
Because we work with so many cars out of our area, we only get one chance to optimize the car. Emil, for example, (the car in this video) will travel to Montana once we release it, so we need the car to be perfect before it departs.
In this video, you can see my final test drive before this car was loaded for a long trip to Montana, and you can hear a bit about my thought-process as another Bugeye heads out for a new life.
