This is a Bugeye we call “Curly” (AN5L 32514). This is a great option for anyone looking for a great driver, as we have already sorted out a number of issues and upgraded a number of systems. A great color, with a lot of recent service, makes Curly a great choice for anyone looking for a Bugeye for under $25,000!
Curly came to us after a stay in Wisconsin, and after some mechanical refreshments to help bring it back to life, this great car is now ready for its next home!
In the past few weeks, we have updated many items on Curly in an effort to make it run and drive well. This included installing an aluminum radiator, replacing all the brake and clutch hydraulics, new shocks, new dog bones, and more! Curly now drives well and will be a wonderful cruiser for its next owner!
Curly’s interior is in great condition. It has an interesting color combination of tan seats and dash covering and black carpet that works really well with each other and also works well with the green paint. A lovely wooden steering wheel and really unique shift knob complete the look of the interior! Curly currently has 2 point seat belts installed; we prefer our 3-point inertia seat belts, which we would be happy to install for you!
Curly is equipped with a 1275 engine mated to a rib-case transmission and drum brakes all around. The engine runs well and thanks to its new aluminum radiator cools much more efficiently! The transmissions shifts well thanks to the new clutch slave and master cylinder we installed. Check out the video below and see how well Curly drives!
Curly comes with a set of side curtains that will need new gaskets and a black top bow. The tan canvas top fits the car well but it has seen better days (take a look at the slideshow for some photos of the top installed); we can fit any color top (or tonneau) you like if you wish to start fresh!
