NEW! I’ve never liked the driving lights hanging down beneath the nose on this car, so we have removed them this week (and the car looks better already, IMHO). We’ve also spruced-up the interior with a new tunnel carpet and some new dashboard knobs. This was always a nice car… we’ve made it look even better! White and red has always be a crowd pleasing color combo, give this one a look if you want a handsome driver with nice upgrades!
“Mahoney” (AN5L 19886) is the perfect Bugeye cruiser! This is a 948-powered car, with front disk brakes, and you’ll find this Bugeye great fun to drive. We have had the privilege of working on this one a few times for the prior owner, and we’ve repaired and upgraded this car so the new owner can now jump in and enjoy it. Look at the new parts list below… a different white Bugeye you might find online could look similar, but too often that other car will need upgrades like the ones already done to this car. This one was fully sorted in our shop for the prior owner.
The car has a lot of nice improvements done at our shop. Most notably, we upgraded the car to front disc brakes, installed new radius arms, new original speedo, door liners, high output starter, and installed a newly rebuilt rib case transmission just a few hundred miles ago. The prior owner spent about $10,000 at our shop on these and other improvements, so the new owner gets a lot of great goodies included.
In May of 2020, we also we also installed new front shocks, new rear shocks and dog bones, check straps, one of our improved ignition switches, an electronic distributor, new slave cylinder, water hoses, electric fuel pump, heater valve and upgraded hanging gas pedal.
Most recently, we put in a new spin-on oil filter kit, fuel tank, and fuel pick up line, all to further tidy-up the car.
The previous owner installed some custom speaker enclosures in the foot well area that could be in striking distance of the knees of taller drivers; these can be removed quite easily as well if the next owner so desires.
