We are pleased to offer “Sherwood,”(AN5L 27613) a top-shelf Bugeye that we have for sale. Sherwood has a lot of custom touches and beautiful accents that make it stand out, even in a Sea Of Bugeyes!
Sherwood was completely restored and repainted within the the last seven years. It also has a new 1275 engine that was completely rebuilt about 500 miles ago, mated to a Ford five-speed transmission, under a flip-forward nose. As such, the drivetrain is nearly new. There’s a Weber downdraft carburetor installed that works quite nicely and front disc brakes are installed. (The rear brakes remain drums). We have replaced the ordinary gray Minilite wheels with a black set with chrome trim rings and newer tires and it has totally transformed the car. It’s a well-restored driving showpiece!
The interior has been worked-up to the highest standards in our shop, with custom dashboard stitching and hardura floor covering, all with contrasting white thread. The tonneau is custom sewn with white thread to match the dashboard, so the car has the best accessories and the most elegant cockpit, a winning combination and a delight to drive! Three-point retractable seat belts have also been installed.
I made a short video until our camera ran out of juice so it’s cut a little bit short, but the car sounds great and runs great! It’s a true delight to drive, as you can see in the video. You’re buying a fully-sorted car that’s been extremely well cared-for and recently restored. No top, bows or windows are included, but we have all of that and more available if the new owner should be interested in adding them, or in fact wanted to make even more upgrades to Sherwood, such as an aluminum radiator.
