NOW SOLD! Congratulations Dan in Ontario on your new project! Our 339th Bugeye off to a new home!
This is a 1960 Bugeye we call “Clifford,” (AN5L 37334). “Clifford” the Bugeye is a great project car that you can drive while you play. The body is very attractive to me, and that’s why I bought it. The panels look good, no rust on the sides in the usual places, which is a big plus, good rockers and fender bottoms. There is a bit of rust in the floors, but we have seen worse. Ultimately, this is a car that needs restoration you can enjoy and play with along the way. Fit with a 1098 engine, side draft Weber and front disk brakes, tires from 2018, so you have a bunch great add-ons, like a K and N lifetime air filter and new fuel tank, and the car runs well. Does jump out of second though, so a new rib-case is recommended (which we have in stock, and can install for you, if you like). Radius arm bushings are also needed, this is pretty common, and relatively easy to fix (which we can also fix these for you, or provide the bushings if you prefer).
For many people, this is a perfect car, low up front cost, many nice upgrades, solid body, minimal body work needed before repaint can happen, and a fine interior. You can get started with your Bugeye lifetstyle, and upgrade the paint when you are ready, but in the meantime, you can have a ton of fun!
