NOW SOLD to Peter in Florida! Congratulations Peter!!!
The resto-mod market for non-stock Bugeyes with drivability improvements continues to grow. Stock Bugeyes have a strong appeal. And more and more people are asking us for performance and reliability upgrades. This car is a special example that was built to use and enjoy, on the highway or around town.
“Priscilla” is a superb Bugeye and great fun to drive. The builder of this Bugeye has had a long love affair with Bugeyes, and set out to build the ultimate Frogeye. He installed a Datsun 210 engine (disguised with an Austin valve cover sticker) and Datsun 210 transmission. This engine is 1397CC 80 Horsepower 210 engine, quite a bit more powerful than a 1275 engine in stock form, and then he further modified it for even more power with a Crane cam and Weber carb… more power while retaining good street-abilty. And the last owner claims to have gotten 42 MPG on the highway!
She’s loaded with performance modifications and also looks fantastic. This is an extensively modified car! When we last saw this car in 2018, it received new master cylinders, new front shocks, new rack boots and a new clutch and battery.
The car currently sports a nice white stripe and white top to accent, beautiful silver Minilite wheels and tri-bar headlights. It also has a cut grill installed, without the ‘eyebrow’ and a front flip nose kit actuated with a nifty interior cable operated release!
Priscilla features a completely custom dashboard with Dolphin gauges, a usable radio and a heater in the center to keep everyone warm.
She has a Vega rear axle with a limited slip differential and larger Chevy rear (drum) brakes, which are more reliable and seem to last a lot longer than the Sprite wheel cylinders. The car has awesome stoping power, these are the best brakes we have ever seen on a Sprite, courtesy of the power booster, big front disks, and well-engineered upgrades.
If you are looking for a special Bugeye with maximum reliability and many performance upgrades, Priscilla is a great choice! Call or email if interested!
