NOW SOLD to Tom in Connecticut! Congratulations Tom, happy birthday! This is our 323rd Bugeye sold!
Marco had sold a while back, but Floyd decided to go in a different direction, so this great car is available once again!
Here’s another sensational car. Marco is a 1959 Austin Healey Sprite chassis number AN5L 15432, with a 1275 engine, and a lot of power. Mathew, the prior owner since 2018, has put 3000 miles on this stunner since his stewardship, and he told me that most of them have been at about 75 mph. He had us install a Ford five speed when the car was here last in 2018 so he could specifically enjoy interstate cruising when needed. He added the Brooklands screens you see inside his stock windscreen, so that he could also enjoy a stripped down Biplane mode. And since Mathew owns an open vintage airplane I am not surprised this was his preferred configuration. (If you prefer more screening, a complete original frame comes with the car… or the Brooklands screens can be removed if you prefer)

Marco had a gigantic build sheet in early 2018, when it left here with a new GPS speedo and zero miles (now reading 3000… hey! we actually have a real verifiable mileage number for a change!). We installed a new fuel tank, upgraded the front wheel bearings, new exhaust system with twin tipped muffler for a great exhaust note, alternator conversion, electronic tach conversion, electronic ignition, solid state fuel pump, spin on oil filter kit, three point seat belts, six blade fan, new heater valve, Moto Lita steering wheel, black powder coated door knobs, black lug nuts and wheels, 12V power plug, upgraded ethanol proof carb floats and newly rebuilt carbs, new tonneau (which is now modified, but still workable), 3.9 rear end for better highway cruising, new water pump and bypass hose, new radiator hoses, new upgraded timing chain, new battery, new 155 tires, new door gaskets, new premium aluminum radiator, new steering column bushings, new top storage bag, new pinion seal, and front sway bar.

The prior owner appreciated the raw simplicity of these cars and removed carpet under the seats and removed the seat adjustment hardware to lower the seat in the car. All those pieces come with the car, and we can rebuild the interior per the needs of the new owner. He has also modified the tonneau so it will work with the Brooklands racing screens… he’s made it into a bit of a poncho which is an interesting innovation. You could leave it as is, or the tonneau could be replaced if you prefer. It’s all looks great, but perhaps some interior work is in order, I would love to see our black hardura kit installed, perhaps with matching green thread. But it is the driving experience that will take your breath away, this boy is fun. And Marco looks mean with the Brooklands screens and black wheels. It’s a striking combination.

Call or email if you would like to take Marco home! Drum brakes are currently present on all four corners and they work great. We would be happy to upgrade braking to disks, and add the hardura, and bring this striking car to the next level!
