If you are one of those people who loves to bring your Bugeye and a warm bed with you, this is the vehicle for you!
This 2000 Ford E350 camper van has been modified to haul a Bugeye Sprite (or similar small race car, motorcycle, ATV, snowmobile, etc.) We acquired it (with several Bugeyes) from a lifelong auto mechanic and Bugeye-lover who was passionate about attending vintage race weekends and about bringing his street Sprite to the events for local transportation while at the races. He would live in the van for the weekend, and then load up his Bugeye at the end of the races and head home.
The van has about 98K miles and runs and drives well. She’s easy to drive and powered by a Trident 5.4 L V8 with an automatic transmission with overdrive, and fit with new rear tires and a new engine battery just last fall. All service was performed by the owner, who was a full time auto technician.
Ramps are included as shown, and the winch (with remote) works nicely to haul a Bugeye up the ramps. It’s a tight fit but works fine. And of course, this set-up would work well for loading and hauling a multitude of narrower vehicles. There are four tie-downs in the flooring to secure your vehicle.
The van is also loaded with a Murphy bed and fold-down furniture and a sink as well as 110 inverter, solar collector on the roof and several extra batteries to power any 110 accessories (coffee maker and beer fridge?) you might want on board. There’s an older computer and CD player fit currently but of course the 110 power can be used for any accessories the new owner desires.
She’s solid underneath, with four wheel disk brakes. The interior is loaded with custom cubby holes and lockers, so you can store all your Bugeye parts with ease. More pictures are coming soon, or call if you want more specifics.
