This week, we have for sale one of my favorite all time cars (next to the Bugeye). Perhaps it’s no accident that the AH 100 was also designed by Gerry Coker. Like a Bugeye, the proportions and curves are just right, but the 100 is of course much more elegant.

This particular car was sent to Germany when new in June of 1956 per the heritage certificate. Healey made 640 factory M cars, and this is not one of them. But the upgrades were so successful (added 20 HP and better handling) that the kits were available for anyone to retrofit their car. Dealers performed M conversions as a result, and other privateers added the M kits on their own. This car was a stock BN2 when delivered in 1956 and then later upgraded with the correct M kit. She was completely restored in 2011, and ultimately certified by the Austin Healey 100M registry as an accurate M-spec car.
The car is finished in stunning and iconic Healey blue over Olde English white coves. The original wheels would have been silver 48 spokers. These are stronger 60 spoke wires that would likely have been added in 2011 when the restoration was completed. While not stock, it’s a very attractive look that accentuates the coves.
The rotisserie restoration was completed in Florida by a marque specialist and you can see quality throughout. The underside is excellent as is the engine bay. The car runs and drives beautifully, with overdrive in third and fourth gears as when new. Of note is the excellent weather gear… this car has the correct blue everflex top, tonneau and sidecurtains in nearly new condition, all properly fit to the car.
The interior is excellent, with leather seat covers from 2011 as well as new carpet and panels from that time. Everything works, except one wiper wheel box is needed (about $40). Most people remove the wiper arms when folding down the windshield, and the driver’s side spline must have been damaged during one of those cycles. The wiper motor and drive all works fine, it just needs the wheel box. There is no heater installed (I believe this was an option)
The engine was rebuilt in 2011 and runs wonderfully. The car rides and drives like a recently restored car. It’s tight and really fun to drive!
