NOW SOLD to Jonathan in New York, congratulations! Our 291st!
This is “Gerry” (AN5L 47448), an awesome Bugeye built in 1960 first titled when new in 1961, and owned by the same guy from 1965 to 2016 (he purchased it from the original owner and then restored it in about 2009).

This is a top-shelf car, with a significantly more classy look than your normal Bugeye. The Aston Martin Green paint has a lot of silver in the finish, and the car is stunning. We’ve just upgraded the interior with new green panels and new deluxe hardura mat, which also has a lot of silver in the finish, and the overall package is downright elegant. Most Bugeyes look like candy. This car looks like jewelry. If you are looking for a striking car, (perhaps one of the most elegant looking Bugeyes we have ever had), this is your car.

The passionate restorer built the car with an uprated 1275 engine (more below), rear tube shocks, chrome wire wheels, as well as front and rear disk brakes. One really nice feature about four-wheel disk brakes is that brake maintenance is nearly eliminated. They are self adjusting of course, and unlike drum brake wheel cylinders, calipers seldom fail.
Take a look at the handsome stay-fast canvas tonneau below, another top-shelf upgrade… (we can get these for your Bugeye BTW if you are coveting one, but they are almost three times the price of the usual vinyl tonneau)

It’s great to drive and looks beautiful! The car was named after Gerry Coker, and this is a fitting tribute to the man who penned the Bugeye Sprite and AH 100.

The car was painted throughout in 2009 on a rotisserie restoration from back to front and top to bottom. The underside is fully restored and beautifully painted to match the body.

The engine is a stock 1275 block with some impressive modifications, namely a Cooper 997 fast cam, BMC special tuning header, heavy duty valve springs, an uprated oil pump, lightened aluminum flywheel, aluminum engine backing plate, electronic ignition, stainless steel exhaust system, vernier adjustable timing chain and 7.8 liter high capacity racing oil pan. The car runs great with ample power. The transmission has the BMC “special tuning” gear set installed, a neat period correct modification.

We bought this car in 2016 and completed an interior and cosmetic restoration as well as a number of upgrades such as LED lights all around, and a new master cylinder (not shown) for the new owner. He’s put a few thousand miles on the car and is now moving to a new location. When he offered us the car, I jumped at the opportunity, since this is a good one!

This week, we put in new hardura green floor coverings, green interior panel boards and a new green dashboard trim bar, to complement the already awesome interior. We also put in black rubber floor mats to protect the footwells. There is also an anti-theft battery cut-off switch in the passenger foot well by the way… now the car is ready for a new home once again, better than ever!

There’s a nearly new fuel tank in place, electric fuel pump, rear panhard bar, performance exhaust, three point retractable seat belts in contrasting green and the original un-cut radio perforations are proudly displayed on the color-matched dashboard. (All Bugeyes came this way, most have been knocked-out for radios along the way.)
