We are nearly ready to send this Bugeye to its new home.
This week, we finished the interior, fit a new matching top, and put in a new fuel tank and original fuel gauge. The damped later style gauge didn’t work properly, and upon further inspection, the sender gasket was leaking and the tank was pretty corroded inside. A new tank will ensure a clean and reliable fuel supply for many years to come.
What started as a simple interior color change from black to tan has turned into a masterpiece. This is one of our favorite builds, and it is stunning from every angle and in every configuration… top on, top off, tonneau on, etc.
It is a privilege for us to re-imagine these cars for this century. We love to accent their original style, without going too far afield. These are Sprites the way they might have been made if they were priced a little higher… or if they made them for a lot longer… or offered different levels of trim. Of course, the car we all know and love was only available as a plain basic and pure (sparse) sportscar. And so we are tasked with preserving that identity, while upgrading it for today’s customers, who often like their things nice.
It’s time to send another unique Bugeye out into the world. We look forward to building the next one, maybe for you!
