This is a great driver. In fact, if you want one of our cars that has already gone through our process and been fully sorted-out, this one deserves serious consideration. It’s a 948 powered car with the original engine and original drum brakes. We upgraded it for a fellow in Arizona last year with an aluminum radiator, new master cylinder, electronic ignition and new distributor, spin-on oil filter, new tires, new three point retractable seat belts and a whole lot more. So if you want a “jump in and go” Basic Bugeye (with hot weather upgrades) that looks sharp in spite of a few minor cosmetic issues, this is a great choice.

The car is solid and was restored by a Bugeye lover in Massachusetts about seven years ago. The clear coat applied to the paint has a bit of yellowing, so this car is best for a driver who wants a sharp and clean solid car with respectable (but not perfect) cosmetics. The interior is quite nice!

We did about $10,000 worth of mechanical work to the car to refresh and sort it all out and upgrade it for the prior owner. Wheel cylinders, master cylinder, carb jets, battery, rack boots, dog bones, water pump, slave cylinder, fuel tank, fuel sender, even a complete differential swap for a good 4:22, to name a few parts that we replaced. The car was purchased by a son for his father who had grown up with Bugeyes, and he wanted it completely prepared, so we fixed anything and everything for delivery before Christmas in 2018. So the work is fresh, and the car works properly.

The top is nice and good sidecurtain cores are included if you want to restore them (we sell new ones too). All in all, this is the perfect car for anyone who wants the most reliable classic Sprite possible, loaded with upgrades, and ready to go. Call or email if you are interested!
