Here’s a wonderful Porsche full of Bugeye personality. This very well-restored 1963 Porsche 356B is elegant and sophisticated, a stylish gentleman compared to a rugged and toss-able nimble Sprite. These sold for about $4,200 when new compared to the Bugeye’s $1,795 new price, so of course, everything is quite different. The interior is more luxurious, the car is quieter and simply more elegant while retaining great sports car fun, racing heritage and service simplicity. The 356 is full of personality and lovable curves, just like a Bugeye and that’s why I like it so much. And the car is tons of fun to drive and admire. Everyone needs one of each.

This is a wonderful car throughout. It’s a Euro-spec car finished in the original signal red. It was purchased from the widow of a passionate restorer in Maryland. Her Husband spent years rebuilding this car. (it’s not a Vermont car, just a VT plate)
Cosmetically and mechanically it’s completely restored. The car has excellent new leather seats and wool carpet, beautiful door trim, headliner and chrome. The underside is excellent and has been restored. The trunk pan is solid and clean. She has a recent new, stock, six-volt battery with a built-in trickle charger you can plug into any 110 outlet to keep the battery fresh. Also included is the original tool roll as seen in the pictures under the leather spare tire strap.
The car runs and drives flawlessly. The engine is strong and you can jump on the highway and drive this car anywhere, including to shows where you will draw a crowd. The overall condition is excellent.
Chassis # is 124799. Engine number is p710456 616/15. This is a 1600c 75 HP engine from July of 1964 (similar to the original), with an 8:5:1 compression ratio. The car shows 25,852 miles but the odometer recently stopped working. Porsche certificate of authenticity is also included.
I love the original glove box door accessories and original driver’s manual (pictured). And I have always loved the leather flap that folds out of the fuel fill to protect the car from gas pump nozzles. Porsche taught me to fuel my dad’s 911 carefully when I was a kid, something I have never forgotten. 1963 is the first year Porsches had the front fender fuel door.
