I had a lot of fun driving our blown and injected Bugeye to a Healey club event last weekend, the best way to put on some test miles before we send the car to its Michigan home. Here is some driving footage after the club event, with a gorgeous Healey 100 behind. That nasty boy has a V8, and of course it’s more powerful and faster, but at least this particular Bugeye can hold its own.
Back at the shop with the laptop attached, we made a few micro adjustments, made possible with this computerized fuel injection system: for example, the spark advance was excessive at crank RPM making it harder to start the car and the fuel flow at zero throttle setting was too lean causing the engine to sometimes shut-off on deceleration. With a few key strokes, these issues were addressed, and now we are ready for more testing on a roundtrip to British by the Sea in New London, CT on June 5. That’s a great all British show and Bodhi and I hope to see you there!
