We sold this gorgeous Healey last year to a great client in Maryland, who has now asked us to sell it for him on consignment. It’s a fantastic car so we are happy to offer it to again! He is a collector with multiple cars so this one hasn’t moved much since we had it last, he put less than 500 miles on the car so it is still in tip top shape and ready for a new owner!
We have serviced and improved this car since you saw it last and now it is completely sorted and outstanding in every way. We have replaced the hydraulic parts prone to wear, rebuilt the carburetors, repaired the heater and replaced the wheels and tires with new painted 72-spoke wire wheels and Vredestein Sprint Classic tires (the former 48-spoke chrome wire wheels are pictured).
This is BN6L 2795, fully restored and very useable with the correct original matching engine. As you might have seen in prior posts, I am partial to the two-seat big Healeys, like this one. The two seaters are just more elemental, more authentic, more sporting, more clean. This one was extremely well-restored and drives beautifully! Spend five minutes with this car in the video below… (and click the “read more” text below the video to see the photo album!)
This is a matching numbers car originally built on August 27, 1958, that was meticulously and faithfully restored to all original specs in a massive project from 1989-1996. All work was done by Healey Surgeons in Maryland, marque specialists, for an owner in Annapolis. I have the file with stacks and stacks of their receipts totaling about $35k, for a rebuilt engine, transmission, front end, as well as everything else. Speedo shows 5720 miles, total mileage since restoration of the gauges, documented during the project.
She was painted in the original Colorado red, with the correct red interior (as shown in the heritage certificate, see photo). The seats are beautiful soft leather, not vinyl. The engine bay is excellent. The transmission shifts beautifully and the overdrive works flawlessly. The car also has a beautiful stainless steel exhaust system installed during the restoration, which produces one of the best exhaust notes available on any British car.
As you can see from the photos, the underside is excellent. There is of course no rust, and the underside was completely restored with the rest of the car at the time of restoration and repaint.
The chrome wire wheels and tires are new. Brakes and clutch actuate as they should. The car needs nothing and is ready to go for the new owner.
The car comes with an excellent tonneau and top, both of which appear were replaced at the time of restoration, and are thus in nearly new shape. The top assembly and bow is excellent and correct for this 100/6. The trunk is also immaculate and houses a nearly new set of side curtains.
The new owner can join right in with any Healey club event, or proudly show up at any car show next weekend with a good shot at a trophy. Or put this car away and watch it grow, as there will never be any more two-seat Big Healeys, this car is a great prize to acquire, and a wonderful drivable sculpture to own. I just drove the car 50 miles and loved every minute. You can too… fly in and drive this car home.
You can hear the distinctive Healey exhaust roar as Bodhi and I take the car for a drive in the video below. This is a high level car that will delight any collector or enthusiast who wants to drive and show a great example of 1959 motoring bliss! Call or email for if you’re interested in giving this car a new home! This motorcar is now for sale for $59,995, price reduced!
