This build just keeps getting better, now with an electronic fuel injection kit. I am extremely optimistic about this modification, because it does away with a number of commonly worn parts and improves efficiency and performance. The distributor is replaced by modern coil packs and the fuel metering is of course much more precise than what’s possible worn SU carbs. We know how to make the old stuff work, but this is a wonderful evolution, and a new way for us to deliver improved consistency and run quality.
Of course it comes with challenges but we are sorting them out. This kit requires a minor frame modification up front to make room for the crank sensor and trigger. We are able to cut, reinforce and weld that piece here, and will include a template when we eventually offer this kit for sale. We see this as important evolution as we continue to work to produce the best Bugeyes anywhere.
It’s a delight for us to build a concours stock Bugeye and an blown and injected super Bug under the same roof. We are fortunate that there is a strong market for Stock Bugeyes, and also for well-crafted modified Bugeyes like this one!
