This is an Austin-Healey Sprite we call “Atlanta” (guess where it came from?) which is a nice solid driver. AN5L 45259 looks great and it’s great fun to drive. She has a 948 engine with good power and oil pressure, and a great rib case transmission and drum brakes. This is a nice looking car that won’t break the bank.
We have Atlanta for sale at $16,400, including new front shock absorbers and bushings that we have just installed. We’ve also aligned the front end… great improvements!
We’ve just gone through the car and put in a new fuel tank, new fuel sender (with ethanol-proof metal float and all new gaskets), rubber mounted the fuel pump to reduce noise, replaced the oil pressure gauge line, replaced the radius arm bushings, rebuilt the carbs, set the timing and points, and put in the correct shift lever. The car is a blast to drive! Indicated mileage is 00940.
Don’t be misled by the pipe wrap on the center exhaust pipe, that’s just heat wrap, not a bandage. The center pipe, while older, is fine. These pipes, by the way, are relatively inexpensive, under $100, if it ever needs to be changed. We did a compression test on the car and got 130, 120, 130 and 125, all good numbers.
Interior is quite nice. Seats look great in blue with light blue piping. All the gauges work, and a nice ammeter has been added under the dash. An older top is included, which needs a new window, or, if you feel you will use a top, we can fit a new one for you. Top bows are the two piece variety, which we have packed in white foam and put in the boot, as shown in the pictures.
