“Leo” (AN5L 29719) is a stunning driver, with new paint and lots of new parts. We have just restored the entire rear tub floor for optimal strength and integrity-we’ve welded in new rear factory reproduction floor pans to repair the spring box area and restore structural integrity to the car. The car is now a very solid car and looks great.
Wheels are new minilights and new 165 tires, wider for an aggressive stance but not so wide to compromise ride quality. This is a fun Sprite, that drives great! The center stripe and mag wheels give the car a modified look that opens up lots of possibiltles for further modifications if the new owner so desires. Or enjoy the car as is with it’s strong 948 and drum brakes. Slightly larger HS2 SU carb have already been fit. Leo also has an exhaust header. Click “read more” below to see the photo album…
Leo was painted just last year. The car features nice red pin striping and a removable stereo system on the back deck, with it’s own electronic antenna (no antenna holes in the body). The electric fuel pump is a nice upgrade. The car also has a hidden anti-theft battery kill switch. The grill has been slightly modified for a racier look, similar to the grill on Shelby. Looks great! The car also has a voltmeter added below the dash. The interior is quite stock. The clock is merely glued to the dash, and removable is so desired, although we felt it looked just fine. Top is nice! Original side curtain frames are included, in good shape, but need new plastic windows and rubbers, which we have for sale if you want to restore them (we have new side curtains available too).
No heater installed at the moment, as the car has always been in warm weather, but that can be added if desired. In fact anything can be added, and we can custom build-out Leo (it’s a great platform for a supercharger and five speed) but he looks and works great just as he sits!
